What is electrical waste?
Any used electrical item that has a plug or a battery in your home or school.
Where can you recycle used electrical items and batteries?
You can recycle your electrical waste and used batteries free of charge at your local recycling centre or you can bring back your items to a Be Free Recycling Event in a town close to you – check www.befreewitherp.ie for a full list of events. Used batteries can also be returned to your local retailer that sells equivalent batteries – watch out for the ERP Battery unit on the counter and deposit in the box for recycling.
What happens to electrical waste & batteries when recycled?
99% of electrical waste is recycled in an environmentally friendly way and many of the materials are reused to produce new electrical items. Batteries as we know are harmful to the environment when dumped, ERP treat and recycle batteries responsibly to protect our planet.
