ERP Junk Kouture will be bringing a touch of style to this year’s BT Young Scientist Exhibition at the RDS from Wednesday, 11th January until Saturday 14th January. The ERP Junk Kouture competition, which is in its second year, sets the challenge to budding fashion designers among the nation’s secondary school students inviting them to rework trash and other already used materials and craft them into remarkable high-end couture fashion for men or women.

It’s SCARY the amount of batteries that don’t get recycled!
Minister for the Environment, Community and Local Government Phil Hogan T.D today (Wednesday 26th October) launched a new campaign to remind everyone to “Bring Batteries Back”, a nationwide initiative to encourage more battery recycling in Ireland.

ERP Celebrates Recycling Success in Ireland on the 6th Birthday of the WEEE Directive
ERP this week celebrates the sixth anniversary of the WEEE Directive (Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment) and welcomes the decision by The Minister for the Environment, Phil Hogan, TD, to commence the process of developing a new national waste policy, as evidenced in the publication of the consultation document “Towards a New National Waste Policy”.

Ireland is leading the charge in responsible recycling
ERP Ireland today announced the results from its pan-European survey into WEEE and waste battery recycling habits to coincide with Europe Day, the anniversary of the creation of the European Union in 1950. The survey results bode well for Ireland, which outperformed other European countries surveyed for WEEE and battery recycling.

Limerick City Council and ERP Easter Hunt is a Great Success – over 350 children attended the hunt and a massive 33kg of batteries was recycled which is the equivalent of 1,500 AA batteries!

Santa wants you to make this a Green Christmas and Recycle your Batteries!
ERP Ireland in association with numerous County Councils around Ireland, has announced the launch of its Christmas Appeal - aimed at encouraging people to have a Merry Green Christmas. This year, ERP has asked a special someone to help families recycle their batteries. Santa will be travelling around Ireland to meet all the local children in his Grotto at various events organised over the coming weeks in Fingal, Louth, Clare, Limerick, Kerry, Cavan, Leitrim, Monaghan, Westmeath, Meath and Limerick City.

Minister for the Environment, Heritage and Local Government, John Gormley, T.D. and Martin Tobin, Managing Director, European Recycling Platform Ireland mark the celebration of ERP recycling over 1 million tonnes of electrical waste across 11 European countries. This activity has led to the diversion of 14 million unwanted TVs, 43 million small domestic appliances such as toasters, 5.5 million large domestic appliances such as washing machines and 4.5 million cold electrical appliances from landfill.
